چکیده

In this paper, a technique based on the use of optical interferometry is employed to evaluate the surface geometry and refractive index profile of a graded-index planar microlens array. The experimental setup consists of sodium light and He-Ne laser sources which are incorporated into a microscopy system. The two light sources can be utilized alternately for surface geometry and refractive index measurement. The Newton’s rings resulting from the sodium and laser illumination sources are analyzed by proposed algorithms combined with fringe tracking techniques. Experimental results demonstrate that the surface profile and gradedindex properties of the micro-lenses can be readily obtained.

Single-shot areal profilometry using hyperspectral interferometry with a microlens array.

We describe a single-shot technique to measure areal profiles on optically smooth and stepped surfaces for applications where rapid data acquisition in non-cooperative environments is essential. It is based on hyperspectral interferometry (HSI), a technique in which the output of a white-light interferometer provides the input to a hyperspectral imaging system. Previous HSI implementations suff...

Replication of optical microlens array using photoresist coated molds.

A cost reduced method of producing injection molding tools is reported and demonstrated for the fabrication of optical microlens arrays. A standard computer-numerical-control (CNC) milling machine was used to make a rough mold in steel. Surface treatment of the steel mold by spray coating with photoresist is used to smooth the mold surface providing good optical quality. The tool and process ar...

Measurement and comparison of the temperature-dependence of refractive index of water and Plexiglas phantoms by interferometry method for their use in optical calorimetry

In radiation calorimetry by using laser beams and interferometry setups, variations induced by dose absorption in phantom can be precisely measured. Dose absorption and the induced temperature change result in refractive index variation of the material. In order to be able to measure the low amount of absorbed dose in the phantom, temperature dependence of refractive index of the material must ...

Wide-field two-dimensional multifocal optical-resolution photoacoustic-computed microscopy.

Optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy (OR-PAM) is an emerging technique that directly images optical absorption in tissue at high spatial resolution. To date, the majority of OR-PAM systems are based on single-focused optical excitation and ultrasonic detection, limiting the wide-field imaging speed. While 1D multifocal OR-PAM (1D-MFOR-PAM) has been developed, the potential of microlens a...
